Appstango is a development agency that builds platforms and systems for founders globally. Their work spans e-commerce platforms, scheduling systems, chatbot integrations and automation updates, often for several clients at once. Each client has its own product, its own stakeholders and its own deadline.
The situation
An agency's quality problem is different from a product company's. There is no single codebase to know inside out. There are many, at different stages, with different stacks, and the team that built one is often already on the next. QA has to be portable: it has to work across projects without a long ramp-up on each.
Appstango approached NorthQA looking for a QA partner rather than a one-off engagement. They wanted testing that could move with their project load, and they wanted a better way to handle the bugs that testing found. Issues from different clients were being tracked in different places and in different ways, which made it hard for project managers to see what was open, what was urgent, and who should be working on it.
What NorthQA did
Embedded QA across projects. NorthQA works alongside Appstango's developers on their client projects, testing as features are built rather than at the end. Because we have worked on many of their projects, we bring context from one to the next: common patterns, recurring risks, and what has broken before.
A centralised bug-filing process. The change that mattered most to day-to-day operations was consolidating how issues are reported. We designed a single bug-filing process that Appstango uses for every client, with one structure for every issue: which client, which product, what happened, how to reproduce it, how severe it is. Everything lands in one place.
Segregation and assignment built in. Because every issue carries the same fields, project managers can filter by client, sort by severity and assign straight to a developer without re-reading the report. The triage step that used to involve chasing context across tools is now a filter and a click.
Testing that fits the agency's rhythm. Scope changes from project to project. Some need full regression before a launch; some need targeted testing on a new integration. The partnership is structured so Appstango can pull in the QA effort each project calls for.
The results
Together, Appstango and NorthQA have shipped several applications across e-commerce, scheduling, chatbot integration and automation work. The centralised bug-filing process is in use across their client base, and project managers can see the state of every project's issues in one view and route them to the right developer without friction.
For Appstango, QA has become part of how they deliver rather than something arranged per project.
What this engagement shows
For agencies, the win is often operational. A consistent way to capture and route issues across every client saves more time than any individual bug fix, and it makes the QA effort visible to the people managing delivery. This is the model behind our dedicated QA team service: QA that joins the team and stays.
